Episode 11: Ghosting

Today we critique Tamara's latest story based on the prompt: Haunted House | Body Adornment/Ornamentation | Tri Cities

Hey listeners and readers!

Thanks for tuning into another episode of Beneath the Rain Shadow where we dive deep into the writing and critiquing process to show you how short, horror stories are really made.

This week we discuss Tamara’s story Ghosting about a sleep researcher who encounters a strange client and unlocks the dark secrets of her familial history, generational trauma connected to a nearby nuclear reservation, and the blending realms of reality, dreams, and magical realism. This story has a mysterious and sinister throughline with a thoroughly violent and intense finish and it’s going to be a true treat to read when we’ve got it all edited and compiled into our book!

We hope you enjoy this episode and that you’ve enjoyed our work throughout the year. It’s truly been an honor to go on this journey with you all and to see so much enthusiasm and support for this strange little adventure. We cannot thank you enough for exploring this with us.

As we wrap up the final episodes of this show, we want to invite you to continue following us, too. If you’re reading this, you probably already subscribed to my newsletter, but please consider joining Tamara’s too. She has a very active, insightful, and entertaining blog presence and always produces awesome work. Plus, you don’t want to miss any announcements about the upcoming collection of all these stories!
